The Hudson Valley Swim story…
The idea for a swim lesson program was first conceptualized in 2002 after a summer of swim lessons in our own backyard for our own and our neighbors’ children. When the summer ended, we enrolled our children in a swim lesson program at the community center and the comparative quality of the lessons they received was far less robust than what we were used to. In 2003 we launched our own lesson program at a local tennis facility and then refined it over many years after seeing the positive impact that we had in our own community.
As we grew, we needed to move to a larger facility and eventually needed to expand to even more locations. As a byproduct of the expansion, we developed a repeatable process to launch a new location from both a business process perspective as well as a marketing perspective. These became key elements in our decision to franchise the business.
We offered our franchise owners a new way of thinking about the industry. Instead of waiting years and spending millions on building new pool facilities, our pool-rental model makes it possible for owners to get up and operating quickly, with no experience needed.
